OLED Screens Powering Global OLED

JOLED is the first OLED manufacturer of the world to promote screens that utilize a lower-price printing procedure, where organic color stuffs are put down onto substrates of glass in a manner similar to ink-jet printing. The printing process can make OLED screens 20–30% more affordable than the present evaporation procedure since it does not require metal masks and vacuum chambers for depositing colors, technology chief of JOLED, Yoneharu Takubo, claimed to the media in an interview.

“We ultimately need to make the printing process an effective standard for making OLED panels,” claimed Takubo. OLED panels are getting popular since they are usually more flexible, thinner, and provide richer colors than LCD (liquid crystal display) panels. Apple Inc. has approved OLED panels for its new iPhone X model. But huge manufacture prices are still avoiding OLED screens from being utilized extensively.

At the conference, Takubo also verified that JOLED, established in 2015 by blending the OLED divisions of Panasonic Corp. and Sony, is looking to lift 100 Billion Yen (almost $888 Million) by the end of this fiscal to extend capacity of production. Takubo claimed that JOLED is in discussions with various worldwide panel producers for allowing the new technology of production to make TV screens. He did not state the names of the panel manufacturers.
